Using Your
Sunnex
Lo-LIGHT
Phototherapy Lamp

To use the patented Sunnex Lo-LIGHT, place it approximately 18 - 24 inches from the eyes. Room lighting must be dim, but the Sunnex Lo-LIGHT is designed to be used in conjunction with a computer monitor or while watching television, and it provides sufficient light for those who wish to use it for reading (Cdn. patent # 1,334,399 / U.S. patent # 5,447,527).

Like other light therapy lamps, the Sunnex
Lo-LIGHT is found to work best for most people when used in the morning, as near to awakening as reasonable. We recommend starting with close to one hour exposure, and after a couple of weeks when the beneficial effects of the light therapy are realized, reducing the daily exposure time. Most people find they can shorten the time to 30 - 40 minutes, without a reduction in effect.

However, the time when light therapy is most effective can vary with the individual. While most people respond best to morning treatment, others respond better to evening light exposure (between 8 - 9 pm). Some people respond to either morning or evening exposure.

At Sunnex Biotechnologies we would be happy to give you some general suggestions about timing the use of your Sunnex Lo-LIGHT lamp, though modes of use vary from person to person and ideally should be established in consultation with a therapist.

For comfort, the Sunnex Lo-LIGHT is equipped with an electronic ballast to eliminate flickering from fluorescent bulbs which occurs when used with a magnetic ballast.

Sunnex Lo-LIGHT lamps provide a low-intensity (400 lux) of selected visible light wavelengths. The soft glow of the Sunnex Biotechnologies’ patented^ lamp is as comfortable and safe as normal indoor lighting.  A number of independent studies have verified that the wavelengths of light emitted by SUNNEX Lo-LITE are far more effective at stimulating the pathway from the eye to the biological clock in the brain than most of the wavelengths emitted by full-spectrum and other bright light systems .
